Let's Saidiana

It really boils down to this:
that all life is interrelated.
We are all caught in an
inescapable network of mutuality,
tied into a single garment of destiny.
Whatever affects one directly,
affects all indirectly.
I can never be what I ought to be
until you are what you ought to be.
This is the interrelated structure of reality
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

"After the Bungy Jump, There's Still A Lot of Jerking Goin' On" is Doris Mangrum's first book. Launched at the same time as her business Saidiana Productions. The book follows a mother's eight years of incarceration and all the pangs of that experience while following the family for that same eight year period. It gives the reader an opportunity to see what happens from both sides of the bar when a member of the clan is detained.

It is her desire to call attention to the plight of the families left behind as a result of incarceration of a loved one.
There is a problem with reentry - the formerly incarcerated in large numbers keep going back to prison - without intervention many will return within three years of their release.
While we may not know all the answers to the recidivism crisis - we know that family is the first line of defense.
Family is the reentry program of first and last resort- their unattended ills or supported well-being spill over into the neighborhood, city, county, state nation. It is important that we not only work to include but also improve the status of those left behind as we rebuild our nation - one family at a time.

_______________
Below is a very simple yet powerful statement that can be life changing, life directing, life illuminating. If you can remember it and apply it - it will help direct your path.
"There's nobody better than you - BUT - you are no better than anyone else"
Let this statement drive your daily interactions - it will both uplift you and keep you humble.
